A Fight

Antagonizing.

and tantalizing like the last drops in the cup that

avoid you as they glide, unsatisfying, still denying,

a grudge-holder who never lost

and wouldn’t ever forgive the winner unless it was them

Altercations that erase

all pretenses

as she tries to efface– herself– replace

all pretenses with

anything, feel the beat, skip a beat

always ain’t forever every time but

animosity rushed over everything else

acted like a seam ripper in those blue jeans,

all falling, until she never dared to speak

anything. Feel the beat– skip

a beat– pause for a moment and sink– unleash–

approach, let be, set free from

all pretenses

anything

Break the theme.
