The Heart of Cynicism

My friends would all be shocked to read
These wishes of the cynical girl
Who claims to know she’ll never need
A drop of love to face the world

They’d gasp a bit and tease me still
While I struggle with clichés
And swallow pride and show strong will
My face in bright red shades

Alright- I’ve fallen, just somewhat
For the idea of the ideal
But I shall not stoop to admit
The pointless things I feel
